Coil pursues forms that intertwine and juxtapose narratives on the human condition, creating something new through repetition and layering. By evoking the spaces between each individual coil, the collection suggests the slightly provocative idea that "life is all middle," drawing us into moments whose beginnings seem obscured and endings melt into mutability.

The collection uses the coiled form of a corded telephone as its central motif and, while drawing from a diverse array of sources, finds its starting point in the concentric circles of Amsterdam, as Albert Camus described in the opening pages of his 1956 novel, The Fall.
