Frankie Goes to Shibuya
With the photography of
Olivier Kervern
From October 23 to November 1, The Frankie Shop presents the work of photographer Olivier Kervern alongside a select edit of its FW26 collection at Parco Shibuya, Tokyo.
The event marks the first time The Frankie Shop is directly available in Japan.
A love for photography and a commitment to showcasing it have inspired the brand from the start. On display at the Frankie pop-up in Parco Shibuya are one hundred photographs by Olivier Kervern, taken over the last fifteen years across Italy, Iran, the USA, France, Argentina, South Korea and Japan.
To carry the images beyond the space, The Frankie Shop has published a limited edition book of the work, available at the pop-up in Parco Shibuya.
Kervern is self-taught, contemplative, and precise. No formal method or subject matter drives his work, which spans portraiture, still life, and landscape. The artist is drawn to terrain vague, by which he means something like the abandoned spaces that he re-visions through his lens into the cool and candid images seen here.
The rubble blocking the foot of a stairwell is no longer debris awaiting cleanup, but a formal element offsetting the nude statue to its right. The vacant lot that once hosted a building is now a stage for shadows cast by a structure out of frame.
We see a bouquet of flowers without a giver or receiver—only an idle pair of scissors. And we see all of this because the photographer has already seen it for us
Bringing together The Frankie Shop’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection and Kervern’s photographic world, the Tokyo pop-up offers a new encounter between fashion, art and the city.
